About the band

Once upon a time around 1996/99 The Big Red Bambino Band couldn’t always be as 4, and so Rockinpaddy was born for the new millennium. The Rockinpaddy website was born in 2007. So we’ve been around a bit ay!

. Early days in Jacks, Abbeyfeale, Ireland

The band is a collective of brilliantly talented musicians and friends that come together whenever the opportunity invites. JK puts the shout out, we rehearse hard based on the expectations tailered to the diverse range of gigs we play, venues, pubs, clubs, festivals, tours or bespoke events. With every member playing regularly we have a lot of experience playing small, medium & large scale gigs & concerts and touring nationally & internationally.

Rockinpaddy can be 2 or 3 of us and can be up to 9 of us, depending on who’s around and up for it. We are always up for the craic and we love bringing people together to have a good time.

As each gig tends to be shaped by the demands of the event and the talent avaliable we obviously have a strong irish influence in our set along with Ian Dury (thanks to JK’s 10 years all things Reasons To Be Cheerful and love/association for the Blockheads) and good time tunes from a variety of genres but with that London/irish rock n roll twang! Central to all gigs is the inclusion of our own original material written by JK & friends.

The original material is the heartbeat of the band reflecting the world around us, our experiences lived and of course a good dose of powerful songs celebrating diversity & screaming for equality, inclusion and the need for social change.

Rockinpaddy concerts are full of fun & energy, full of great songs and musicianship but most of all, concerts are full of friends & new aquantences sharing in an atmoshpere where everyone is a part of the craic.  So turn up early & join us.
